YVR Best Moments of Summer
I had an amazing Summer covering a number of special events and one of my favourite clients, YVR Airport made sure to keep me really busy!
All those that are reading this blog post and missing Summertime, please raise both hands!
Ok now take a deep breath – close your eyes – slowly exhale – open your eyes again – scroll down the page a bit….. IT’S SUMMER AGAIN!
YVR put on some awesome events from a quiet early morning Pancake Breakfast to an environmental Shore Cleanup and the always crazy and vibrant Pride Parade to name just a few!
I hope this little dose of Sunshine is enough to warm your soul as I recap a Summer of fun and festivities!
YVR is great for a number of reasons, but one of the most impressive is their community focus. It’s well known that many big organizations often tend to focus on themselves and growing their empire. This is where YVR is really different because the bigger they get, the more they offer back to their community and charities.
At many of their special events you will often see the awesome people from Canucks Autism Network raising awareness and educating people in order to help those touched by the condition.
A pancake breakfast was also held to help raise funds for the BC Firefighters Burn Fund where people could come and enjoy sweet treats in exchange for donations to the charity.
YVR is a progressive organization and so its a natural fit for them to make a FABULOUS appearance at the annual Vancouver Pride Parade. We’re so fortunate to live in an amazing City that is supportive of people’s choices and freedoms, and YVR always ensures their support is present.
Special events with Special people!
One thing you’ll notice when you first walk into the head office at YVR is that everyone is happy! Like actually happy!! Cliché customer service faces are replaced by genuine happy smiles, high fives and all around great vibes. This place exudes positive energy and everyone from the volunteers to their CEO couldn’t be happier in their daily roles.
Volunteering at YVR is a highly sought after position exactly for this reason. There are waiting lists for both the Student Coop program and their famous YVR Green coats ready and waiting to assist travellers day in and day out!
This makes my job at each of these special events super easy because so much enthusiasm and creativity is poured into each one. When you can find CEO Craig Richmond Battling members of the public at Ping Pong during their annual Take Off Fridays event you know you’ve found something special!
I’ve said a hundred times, I love my job and I love my clients! YVR is a shining example of that and I want to thank you for brightening up our lives.
